An active teacher and freelance performer in the Orange County area, Emily Outhier received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas where she studied Flute Performance with Mary Karen Clardy. She continued her studies at Brigham Young University with April Clayton, where she received a Master’s Degree. In addition to performing solo with the University’s Symphony Orchestra, she also toured Europe with the BYU Chamber Orchestra, performing on both flute and piccolo. She has played with Las Colinas Symphony, Pacific Chorale, Corona Symphony, and the Southern California Korean Philharmonic. An energetic teacher, her students place frequently in SCSBOA and CBDA honor groups, local honor bands, and win positions in Southern California’s major youth orchestra organizations. Emily has served as an adjunct faculty member at Cypress College, and currently plays principal flute with the Orange County Millennial Choirs and Orchestra.
